Workforce Solutions seeks comment on Target Occupations List

Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas (WSNCT) has developed and is seeking public comment on the proposed new Target Occupations List (TOL) in advance of adoption by the Board of Directors. This effort is to gain public input from employers, economic, and educational partners; and the general public.

The TOL identifies occupations critical to sustain the regional economy. Occupations are reviewed and selected based on economic indicators and local wisdom. Additionally, the TOL is composed of occupations that offer a training or educational component that is related to the occupation and results in a credential or certificate; results in occupational wages that meet a WSNCT self-sufficiency requirements; and have a substantial number of openings due to job growth rather than openings due to job turnover.

WNSCT welcomes public participation to review and validate the 2018-2019 selections. Comments may be submitted by emailing policy@dfwjobs.com or sending mail to P.O. Box 5888 Arlington, TX 76005-5888. Every communication must include the Standard Occupation Classification (SOC) code of concern and any documentation supporting the request. WSNCT will not consider anonymous comments. All submissions from organizations and businesses, and from individuals identifying themselves as representatives or officials of organizations or businesses, will be available for public inspection in their entirety. The deadline for public comments is August 3, 2018.
