The nation’s four-legged heroes will get a boost this Memorial Day as CAVI on TDY, a nonprofit organization that gives grants to grass-roots military charities who support veterans, is partnering with ‘Carry the Load’.
This year, at the Sunday “Carry The Load” event in Dallas, Cavi, a terrier mix, will be walked by founder of CTDY Donna Brittingham. Cavi will be wearing a special vest honoring 50 fallen heroes adorned with “dog tags” honoring the name of dogs who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the name of our freedom.
Founded in 2016, the goal of CTDY is to serve the military community by helping children, pets, and families both locally and globally during military transition assignments. Leading the charge is Cavi, the highest-ranking officer and furry friend. *The name stems from a military term TDY meaning “Temporary Duty”. Cavi was adopted by Donna Baker Brittingham, a Dallas resident and the CEO of See Pictures, http://seepictures.biz. Brittingham is the daughter of a retired Air Force Captain who served our country for 20 years.
Anyone can make a donation in the name of their own dog or for a fallen service dog and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to “Carry The Load”. To sponsor one of the 50 tags just click here Donate CAVI. After the event you will get a personalized photo of Cavi wearing your tag at the Memorial Day event as a thank you for your donation.
“Cavi on TDY is honored to join Carry The Load in paying tribute to the men, women and pets who have given their lives in our defense, putting themselves in harm’s way so that we all may enjoy our freedom,” said Brittingham.
Carry The Load is a nonprofit dedicated to providing ways to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by our nation’s heroes — military, law enforcement, firefighters and first responders.
