Based on the New York Times bestselling book, the Paramount Pictures and Pure Flix Entertainment film Same Kind of Different as Me will premiere in theaters across the country on Oct. 20.
But, prior to the premiere, Arlington’s Dr. Moody Alexander and Alexander Orthodontics will host an exclusive, pre-release red carpet charity event Oct. 18 at Arlington’s AMC the Parks.
Community impact is at the core of Alexander Orthodontics, so the event will act as a patient appreciation party and aims to raise awareness and support for the Alexanders’ “mission to serve the less fortunate, as inspired by the movie,” a news release stated.
Alexander and his wife, Emily, were inspired after reading the book Same Kind of Different as Me in 2007. The story was one of the factors that led their family to adopt children from and to begin to lead dental mission trips to Ethiopia, the release detailed.
Same Kind of Different as Me follows the true story of Ron Hall, an international art dealer and his wife Debbie, who befriend a homeless man in Fort Worth. Her dreams then lead the trio on a life-changing journey.
