Fort Worth’s Autobahn Motorcar Group is hosting its first-ever Kaylynn’s Friends 5K to support Kaylynn Wawczak.
Wawczak is the 6-year-old granddaughter of an Autobahn Motorcar Group employee and was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
“Autobahn Motorcar Group runs like a family, and family members are there for each other through the highs and lows,” said Larry Barker, community service director for Autobahn Motorcar Group, in a news release. “We hope to see lots of Fort Worth faces come out to show support for Kaylynn.”
The event will feature a 1-Mile Fun Run that will begin at 8 a.m., and a 5K Run that will start at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19, at Trinity Park Pavilion #1.
Awards will be given to the first three finishers in each age group, and each participant in the 1-Mile Fun Run will receive a ribbon. Results will be chip timed by Cox Running Club.
Race sponsorships are available through Autobahn Motorcar Group, and start at $1,000.
Registration is $20 for the 1-Mile Fun Run and $25 for the 5K Run. There will be a $5 price increase after Nov. 1, and day of race registration will cost $30 for the 1-Mile Fun Run, and $35 for the 5K Run. Participants who register in advance will receive a special edition t-shirt, and remaining shirts will be given to race-day registrants on a first-come basis.
Registration is now open at kaylynnsfriends5k.itsyourrace.com, or participants can register starting at 6:45 a.m. day of race.
