Big Tex(t): Alcon to sponsor free eye health screenings at State Fair

Thousands are visiting the State Fair of Texas to experience and witness the fun annual event. This year, Fort Worth-based eyecare provider Alcon will also be present at the fair.

The Alcon Foundation is offering free eye health screenings to all attendees of the fair on Thursday, Oct. 10.

Oct. 10 is World Sight Day, in observance of which Alcon wants to raise awareness about maintaining healthy eyes.

“Many eye conditions and diseases do not have obvious signs and symptoms – making it critical that people have comprehensive eye examinations with eye care professionals for early detection on a routine basis,” Alcon said in a press release.

The screenings, which ensure eye health, are non-invasive and take only a few minutes, according to Alcon. The offering will be available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday.

n addition to screenings, the tent will offer virtual reality tours of the human eye, information about the eye and eye conditions and fun giveaways.
