Dallas district attorney enters treatment a third time

DALLAS (AP) — Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk is entering a mental health facility to seek treatment for the third time since taking office.

Hawk said in a statement Monday that she will enter an Arizona treatment center specializing in mood disorders. She has previously spoken publicly about her battle with depression and anxiety.

The announcement comes 10 days after she returned to Dallas from a Houston treatment facility.

Elected to office in 2014, Hawk’s tenure has been marked by several extended absences from office that her office has explained with statements. Last year, she had not been seen for weeks at the Dallas courthouse before her office revealed she was seeking mental health treatment.
