Eight Texas health centers receive $5 million in federal funding

Affordable Care Act funding totaling $5,189,830 was awarded to eight new health center sites in Texas, Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell said May 5.

These new health centers are projected to increase access to health care services for nearly 29,880 patients.

In Fort Worth, North Texas Area Community Health Centers Inc. received a $407,958 grant.

Nationally, $101 million was awarded to 164 new health center sites in 33 states and two U.S. territories to increase access to health care services for nearly 650,000 patients.
