Fort Worth Fire Department hosting Risk Reduction event

It’s simply safer when folks work together looking out for each other.

Which is why the Fort Worth Fire Department is hosting a community risk reduction event, with a pair of sessions Tuesday (Oct. 8) from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and noon-3:30 p.m. at the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex, 505 W. Felix St., in Fort Worth.

The event is part of Fire Prevent Week. Community members from businesses, faith communities, schools and the general public are encouraged to attend the program, entitled, “Are You Prepared?”

In most cases, the person who can provide immediate care is not a trained healthcare provider or first responder. These trainings teach basic principles to community members so they may provide immediate, front-line aid to reduce injury and lives lost.

The program combines four disaster preparedness trainings on the topics of: active shooter events, out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, life-threatening bleeding and other natural or man-made emergencies.
