Fort Worth South Rotary honors first responders

The Rotary Club of Fort Worth South will honor Fort Worth Police, Fire and EMTs at its annual First Responders Recognition and Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 24.

“Rotarians believe in service above self, and our city’s first responders embody this motto. We want to honor them, and all proceeds from our luncheon will benefit first responders and community projects,” Club President Stuart Hill said in a news release.

Leaders from the Fort Worth Fire Department, Fort Worth Police Department, and MedStar Mobile Healthcare will share stories and help the Rotary Club honor award designees, who will be named at the luncheon. Mayor Betsy Price is expected to attend.

“To hear the commanding officers tell of the bravery of these men and women is truly inspiring,” Hill said.

In 2018, the club expanded the event to include first responders with MedStar.

The luncheon begins at noon at River Crest Country Club (1501 Western Ave.).

Tickets are $30/person in advance, $35/person at the door, or $300 for a sponsorship table of 8.
