JPS Health Network, Tarrant County’s largest teaching hospital, and UNT Health Science Center, the county’s only medical school and academic medical center, are exploring the creation of a unified health care physician practice group. The new collaboration would bring enhanced efficiency, accountability and value to health care delivery across the county, officials of both institutions said June 14. “Our community will greatly benefit from this collaboration, which will help address our medical workforce shortages and improve the coordination of patient care,” said state Sen. Jane Nelson in a news release. Working groups representing physicians and staffs from both organizations will begin meeting to work out the operational details of the new venture. The new medical group would launch in early 2015.
