Keith law firm sells Fort Worth riverfront building to landmen’s group

The American Association of Professional Landmen has purchased the offices of the Keith Law Firm overlooking the Trinity River in Fort Worth.

Keith is moving into smaller quarters at the D.R. Horton Tower in downtown Fort Worth, said Darrell Keith, the firm’s principal.

“Over the years, we’ve downsized a bit and no longer needed an office this size,” Keith said.

Keith, whose offices were formerly in the Wells Fargo Tower downtown, built its own signature 17,000-square-foot building at 1705 W. 7th St. and moved into it in 1996.

The landmen’s association, which has its offices in Fossil Creek, needed to expand, Keith said. The association’s top officer wasn’t immediately available for comment Thursday, and its media relations officer has returned messages in recent weeks about the rumored deal.

Keith said he expects to move his firm into 7,000 square feet at the D.R. Horton Tower in June or July.

Keith said his firm had 25-30 lawyers and staff members at its peak, and has 12 today.

The firm specializes narrowly in medical and legal malpractice and personal injury.

Keith said several factors led to the downsizing, including changes in civil laws in 2003.
