Medical City Fort Worth and Medical City Dallas announce executive moves

Vernon Jones II will join Medical City Fort Worth on Jan. 22 as associate chief operating officer, replacing J.W. Newman, who joined Medical City Dallas in January as ACOO, according to a news release.

Jones holds a Master of Science in Health Care Management from the University of New Orleans and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Texas Southern University.

Jones comes to Fort Worth from the Houston area, where worked as director of operations for CHI St. Luke’s Health Woodlands, Lakeside and Springwood Village hospitals. He also worked in New Orleans as director of ambulatory clinics and three years as manager of urology/ENT for HCA Healthcare’s Tulane Medical Center, and as clinical services manager for Ochsner Health System in Baton Rouge.

Newman joined Medical City Fort Worth in January 2016, serving as ACOO, co-ethics and compliance officer, and co-chief staffing officer. He previously served as an administrative resident with Medical City Healthcare, serving at the division office in Las Colinas, as well as at Medical City Dallas, Medical City Fort Worth and Medical City Plano.

Newman holds a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Finance from the University of Mississippi.
