Chris Hawthorne has joined Balcom Agency as media director, bringing more than 20 years of experience in media planning and buying.
Hawthorne worked previously at Slingshot in Dallas, where she was associate media director and then group media director for 10 years, before moving into human resources.
Alysia Petti has joined Balcom Agency as web developer. She will help build and manage websites for the agency’s clients.

EDUCATION
Sally Lewis is the inaugural associate dean of Tarleton State University’s College of Health Sciences and Human Services. Lewis led the university’s Department of Medical Lab Services and Public Health, located in Fort Worth’s Medical District, for 13 years. Under her leadership, the number of programs in the department has grown from one to six, with more than 200 students annually earning associate, undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates.
HEALTH CARE
Medical City Arlington has added three leaders to its executive team. Mary Beth Short joined the hospital as vice president of human resources, Michael Smith is vice president of business development and Marcus Jackson is vice president of ancillary services.
Chet Schrader has been elected 2018 president of the medical staff at JPS Health Network. Schrader is an attending physician in the Emergency Department and chairman of operations for the Emergency Medicine Residency at JPS. Timothy Kremer has been elected vice president. Kremer is an obstetrician-gynecologist and assistant program director of the ob/gyn residency. Janet Miles has been named 2017 Physician of the Year, honored for orchestrating dramatic changes in laboratory services at John Peter Smith Hospital and across the network. Miles is chairman of pathology.

Todd Stucke, senior vice president of marketing, product support and strategic projects for Kubota Tractor Corp., has been elected 2018 treasurer of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, the North America-based international trade group for the off-road equipment manufacturing industry (agriculture, construction, forestry, mining and utility sectors).

Pier 1 Imports Inc. has appointed William H. Savage, 54, to the new position of executive vice president of global sourcing. Savage’s background in retail and sourcing spans world class businesses in global markets, including Tesco, Walmart, Sears and Kingfisher.
