Opiate epidemic topic of symposium

The Stay on Track Coalition, a program of Challenge of Tarrant County, will host a symposium on opiate misuse and abuse in North Texas on Sept. 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Hurst Conference Center.

Speakers from the National Safety Council to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy for the Drug-Free Communities Support Program, as well as local health care and community leaders, will address “When the Prescription Becomes the Problem: A Community Response to the Opiate Epidemic.”

Registration for the one-day symposium is $25 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. To register, go to
