Parade for work zone safety

National Work Zone Awareness Week

Several hundred road construction workers, along with TxDOT representatives, project team members and emergency responders, marked National Work Zone Awareness Week (April 3-7) today with an event and police-escorted motorcade along Interstate-35W in north Fort Worth.

Workers, all dressed in safety vests, went through a safety briefing and then police led a motorcade of construction vehicles along southbound I-35W from Meacham Street to NE 28th Street, honoring the memory of those who have lost their lives in a work zone throughout the United States.

Robert Hinkle, corporate affairs director, NTE Mobility Partners, Scott Hall, project manager, Texas Department of Transportation, Kyle Freeman, safety director, North Tarrant Infrastructure a nd Fort Worth City Councilman for District 2, Sal Espino attended the event.
