Tenet launches MedPost

Tenet Healthcare Corp. of Dallas has announced MedPost Urgent Care, a newly launched urgent care service providing patients a new health-care alternative.

The centers are part of a growing national network of walk-in urgent care facilities open seven days a week, with extended hours, to care for residents in their communities.

“Health care consumers across the United States expect convenient and timely access to quality care for their immediate concerns,” said Kyle Burtnett, senior vice president, outpatient services, at Tenet, commenting in a news release.

“Urgent care centers fill that gap, and MedPost is there to meet consumers’ needs,” Burtnett said.

Twenty three MedPost centers current operate in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas. Numberse are expected to double by the end of 2014, the company said.

Staffing the centers are physician specialists in primary care, internal medicine and emergency medicine, as well as nurse practitioners and other health professionals. The facilities are equipped with imaging and laboratory services.

“Our goal is to be the gold standard for urgent care in the markets we serve, providing the right type of care at the right time, in a convenient and compassionate way,” said Alan Cason, chief executive officer of MedPost and vice president, outpatient services, at Tenet.

MedPost Urgent Care centers are among Tenet’s 190 outpatient facilities, which include diagnostic imaging centers, ambulatory surgery centers and freestanding emergency departments.
