Texas Capital Bank announces $100,000 donation for equipment, housing for caregivers

Texas Capital Bank has announced a $100,000 donation to assist Parkland Health & Hospital System with expediting COVID-19 testing services and support frontline caretakers and patients needing continual monitoring, the bank said in a news release.

The donation will be used by Parkland Foundation’s Public Health Preparedness Fund to provide hospital personnel with needed medical supplies and equipment, including additional machines for coronavirus testing. It also will be used to help provide space for monitoring patients; lodging to allow critical caregivers to remain close to family members receiving treatment; and community screening for COVID-19 via mobile care vans.

Texas Capital Bank also is deploying its Mobile Center, a custom-made community service vehicle, to Parkland’s mobile testing site located at the Ellis Davis Field House.

Parkland began COVID-19 testing at this site on March 22. The bank’s Mobile Center will serve as a space of refuge for medical staff to rest in a private area with fully equipped facilities. It also may be used as an additional testing site, if needed.
