Texas Health Resources broke ground Oct. 4 on a $20 million, 60,000-square-foot outpatient center in Willow Park, about 20 miles west of Fort Worth in Parker County. Texas Health Willow Park, scheduled to open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2014, will be Texas Health’s first facility in Parker County.
Located on eight acres at the northwest corner of Interstate 20 and Crown Pointe Boulevard, the new center will feature a freestanding emergency department, fitness center and three-story medical office building. Services will include cardiac rehabilitation, behavioral health, physical therapy, laboratory services, advanced imaging, and a chronic disease management program. The outpatient center will be the first part of an integrated health campus that will grow. Future plans call for a surgery center and expansion of space for more physicians and medical services. The campus’s medical offices are expected to have numerous types of physicians, possibly including internists, orthopedists, cardiologists and OB/GYNs. The facility is expected to also attract neurologists, urologists and urogynecologists.
“Today, we’re breaking ground on a facility that will bring primary care and other select specialties to Willow Park and surrounding Parker County communities, making it more convenient for residents to get quality care close to home,” said Dr. Harold Berenzweig, executive vice president for Texas Health and the system’s Southwest Zone clinical leader. Willow Park is a fast-growing Parker County city of more than 4,000 residents. Texas Health Willow Park also will serve other nearby communities, including Weatherford, Aledo, Hudson Oaks and Annetta. Currently, the closest hospital to Willow Park is almost 10 miles away, while the closet Texas Health facility, Texas Health Southwest, is 15 miles away.
