Residents can give blood at locations across Tarrant County Thursday, Feb. 9, in the second annual Big Give drive to replenish supplies at Carter BloodCare. The first event last year collected 167 units of blood in a single day.

Big Give was the idea of Ann Farmer, a retired community resource coordinator for Tarrant County, after the unexpected death of Farmer’s husband who was a long-time surgeon in Fort Worth.

Donation sites are:

Northeast Sub-Courthouse: 645 Grapevine Highway, Hurst, 76054

9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Arlington Sub-Courthouse: 700 E. Abram St., Arlington, 76010

8 a.m. to noon

Resource Connection: 1100 Circle Drive, Suite 100, Fort Worth 76119

9 a.m. to noon

Northwest Sub-Courthouse: 6713 Telephone Road, Lake Worth 76135

9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Southwest Sub-Courthouse: 6551 Granbury Road, Fort Worth 76133

10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Donors should look for the Carter BloodCare buses.

Carter BloodCare is the primary provider of blood and transfusion services to more than 150 hospitals and healthcare facilities in North, Central and East Texas.
