United Way releases funds

United Way of Tarrant County announces the immediate release of $50,000, as an initial round of funding, from its Emergency Relief Fund to six organizations.

The funds will cover basic needs such as meals, rent, and utilities, as well as childcare, especially directed for healthcare workers and first responders.

The recipient organizations are Child Care Associates ($10,000), Combatants Overcoming Income Needs (COIN) ($5,000), Community Action Partners ($10,000), Community Enrichment Center ($7, 500), GRACE ($7,500) and Tarrant County Homeless Coalition ($10,000).

Phase 2 funding will quickly follow thanks to the generous donations from corporations and family foundations, United Way said in a news release.
