Programs will provide specialized training for nurses in response to evolving health care needs.
The College of Nursing at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth is expanding its advanced education offerings for nurses with the launch of six online graduate certificates.
The programs are designed to provide specialized training that meets the demands of today’s rapidly evolving health care landscape. Registration for the summer term is now open through May 1.
The new certificates are:
- Chronic Disease Management
- Digital Health Innovation
- Palliative and Hospice Care
- Patient Safety
- Public Health
- Simulation in Health Care and Nursing
These additions follow the fall launch of three graduate certificates: Correctional Health, Health Care Management and Substance Use Disorder.
The fully online, flexible certificate programs consist of four two-week courses, allowing nurses with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing to enhance their skills while continuing their professional practice. Students who complete the program with a grade of B or better may apply the 12 credit hours toward UNTHSC’s Master of Science in Nursing Practice Innovation program.
“We’re providing nurses with the education they need to lead and innovate in a range of health care settings,” said Cindy Weston, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, founding dean of the College of Nursing. “Our graduate certificates offer specialized learning that reflects current industry demands, ultimately supporting better health outcomes for our communities.”
The certificates are designed for professionals who want to deepen their expertise or transition into leadership roles. The curriculum emphasizes real-world applications that can be immediately implemented in clinical and administrative settings.
