USMD Holdings Inc., a publicly-held, physician-led integrated health care system headquartered in Irving, has appointed Carolyn Jones chief financial officer and executive vice president. Jones will oversee the USMD finance department. “Carolyn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to USMD. Her leadership ability combined with her financial management skills and operational understanding of the health care industry will serve us well,” said Dr. John House, chairman and chief executive officer of USMD Holdings.
Jones had served as USMD interim CFO. Previously, she was affiliated with the Tatum division of Ranstand Professionals US, LP. During her time there, she served as interim vice president of financial planning and analysis for Tenet Healthcare and interim CFO of the Dallas Independent School District. Prior to her time with Tatum, Jones served as co-founder of Jones & Co., a financial consulting firm. She also has experience serving as vice president of financial planning and analysis for PacificCare of California. Additionally, she had financial and accounting positions with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and First Interstate Bank. Jones received her bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, her master’s degree in linguistics/TESOL from University of Texas at Arlington, where she also taught in its English Language Institute, and she is a licensed CPA in Louisiana and Texas. In 2012, Jones was named the Literacy Texas Volunteer of the Year for the state of Texas.
