FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A Roman Catholic priest in North Texas has been selected to lead the Fort Worth Diocese.
Pope Francis on Tuesday named Monsignor Michael F. Olson as bishop.
Olson currently is a priest with the Fort Worth Diocese and serves as rector of Irving-based Holy Trinity Seminary.
The 47-year-old Olson replaces Bishop Kevin Vann, who in September 2012 was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Orange, Calif.
