Fort Worth development leader dies

 

James Toal, a planning and economic development professional who helped plan downtown Fort Worth’s redevelopment and the Trinity River Vision project, died Dec. 22.

Toal, 66, was a principal at Gideon Toal from 1993 to 2010, when he established James Toal Inc.

According to the James Toal Inc. website, his company’s representative projects have included: Downtown Strategic Action Plan, Fort Worth Downtown Fort Worth TIF District Downtown Fort Worth PID District Redevelopment and Realignment of NAS JRB Fort Worth (previously Carswell AFB) Trinity River Vision Master Plan and TRV Ten Year Action Plan Trinity Uptown Mixed Use Urban Design and Economic Development Plan, Fort Worth, Texas Trinity Uptown Design Standards, Fort Worth, Texas University of North Texas Campus Master Plan Veale Ranch Master Plan and phasing strategies Fort Worth Botanic Garden Master Plan (including implementation steps) NAS Dallas Redevelopment and Implementation Strategy Amarillo, Texas, Downtown Action Plan Amarillo Downtown TIF Texas Wesleyan University Master Plan
