Additional Details:Recent Activities of the EEOC and Best Practices for Dealing with the EEOC Presented by: Suzanne Anderson, Supervisory Trial Attorney with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Dallas District Office Ms. Anderson will discuss recent activities at the Commission, including EEOC’s re-focusing of national priorities and the EEOC’s local and national litigation program. She will also present examples of best practices when dealing with the EEOC as well as policies and practices that HR professionals should be sure to avoid. The Commission enforces federal laws prohibiting employment discrimination, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended, and the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act. Do’s and Don’t’s When Attending the Company Holiday Soiree Presented by: Colleen Rickenbacher Holiday parties often present challenges to companies and in turn to Human Resource Professionals. Company sponsored events increase the chances that something could happen that will affect the company’s goals and objectives. Human Resource Professionals must take a pro-active approach by providing employers and employees with guidelines to reduce the “People risks” frequently associated with picnics or parties. Colleen Rickenbacher will provide HR Professionals with some concrete and real life examples of how to prevent things from going wrong. Following this train the trainer event, participants will be armed with the best practices to address a variety of potential people risks. Business behaviors like proper attire, appropriate and inappropriate conversations, and even etiquette will be addressed in this very interactive presentation. By following the principles presented, you too will be able to successfully guide your workforce in a way that will prevent or minimize organizational and personnel liabilities. One hour of general re-certification credit has been APPROVED by the HR Certification Institute for EACH of these presentations.
