Julie H. Wilson, APR, founder and president of Fort Worth’s Reasons Group Inc. and former Chesapeake Energy vice president, received the Lloyd B. Dennis Award for Distinguished Service in Public Affairs during the Public Relations Society of America 2013 International Conference in Philadelphia over the weekend. The award recognizes exemplary public relations practitioners who have used their skills in public affairs to promote truth while demonstrating high standards of integrity and honesty in business dealings, and who have helped affect positive change within an organization.
“This award celebrates those in our field who make meaningful differences in their organizations while maintaining the highest levels of ethics and professionalism,” said Dr. Joseph Trahan III, APR, Fellow PRSA, president, CEO and media trainer of Trahan & Associates. A past recipient, Trahan served on the award selection committee, which based its decision on Wilson’s industry commitment, professional experience and community service.
“Julie’s body of work and dedication to PRSA’s principles have set a solid example to those in our profession, especially to those who work in government and public affairs,” he said in a news release. “We are proud to honor her with this award.” Wilson is the second woman to receive this honor and the first recipient from Texas.
