The Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel has named John Klukan as general manager. Previously, Klukan was general manager of the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Solana. Under his leadership, the hotel consistently performed as a top hotel in the Marriott International portfolio for guest satisfaction. “I’m thrilled to join the Fort Worth community,” Klukan said. “The Worthington Renaissance is an iconic hotel in north Texas and a gem in the Renaissance Hotels global portfolio. I look forward to this wonderful opportunity.” Klukhan has held general manager positions at the Dallas/Richardson Hilton & Towers, Renaissance Dallas/Richardson Hotel, the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center and was Market Sales Leader for Marriott International Inc. During his leadership, the Renaissance Tulsa Hotel & Convention Center was recognized with five national Renaissance Hotel awards. Klukan was awarded the general manager sales leadership honor during his tenure at the Renaissance Dallas/Richardson Renaissance. In 2010, he was named General Manager of the Year – Luxury Tier –by the Hotel Association North Texas. An active member of the community, Klukan is president of the North Texas Hotel Association and Chairman of the Marriott International, Inc. Business Council for the Dallas/Fort Worth market. He previously held leadership and board positions with The Richardson Methodist Foundation, Gala Chair for the Foundation, the Richardson, Plano and Tulsa symphonies and the Food Bank of NE Oklahoma. In addition, he served on the board of the Sports Commission Brevard County Florida and the Georgia Hospitality & Travel Association. He was active on several Chamber of Commerce boards in Tulsa, Richardson and Southlake in Texas, and Melbourne, Fla. He is a native of western Pennsylvania and graduated from the Conrad N. Hilton School of Hotel & Restaurant management at the University of Houston. He and his wife, Linda, reside in west Plano.
Klukhan replaces Bob Jameson who left his longtime position there to become president and CEO of the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau.
