Pam Minick touted for touting Cowtown The American Advertising Federation- Fort Worth presented Pam Minick, owner and former marketing director of Billy Bob’s Texas and avid promoter of Fort Worth, with the 2013 Dateline Award for drawing national attention and increased tourism to the city. Minick accepted the award during AAF-Fort Worth’s monthly luncheon on March 19 in Fort Worth. AAF-Fort Worth President Rene Murphy said there is no one more deserving of this award than Minick. “From Willie Nelson to the Super Bowl Committee, Pam has made sure that each entertainer, dignitary and visitor left with an indelible impression of our city,” Murphy said. Minick’s round up of achievements on behalf of Cowtown include playing a key role in Super Bowl XLV and ESPN’s choice of Sundance Square as its home base. Past recipients of AAF-Fort Worth’s Dateline Award include Southwestern Seminary, Texas Rangers Baseball, Texas Christian University Football, the Modern Art Museum and Chef Tim Love.

Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations The Starr Conspiracy acquired Larocque Inc., a strategy and go-to-market consulting firm for human resources technology and human capital management firms, bringing George Larocque into its intelligence unit as director of go-to-market services. Laroque will continue his work as a market analyst and strategic consultant focusing on product positioning and marketing and sales process consulting. He will continue to serve as conference chairman of InfluenceHR. The company also added Anthony “Tony” Spangler as director of communications. Spangler, a U.S. Army veteran, most recently served as senior vice president of communications at OCG PR, and as communications director for Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis.

Banking & Finance Lisa Miller bring more than 15 years of banking experience to her new position as vice president-BSA manager at Southwest Bank. She was most recently the compliance, BSA and CRA officer at PointBank in Pilot Point, Texas. A certified BSA/AML professional and certified community bank compliance officer, Miller also served as BSA specialist at Town North Bank and officer-BSA investigator at Bank of Oklahoma Financial. Health Care Kimberly Maus, an adult nurse practitioner, has been named director of Executive Medicine of Texas. Maus has extensive experience in preventative medicine and also is a certified personal trainer with a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do. The LaSalle Group Inc. appointed David Starr as vice president and general counsel. Starr will oversee the legal department that services the company and its four divisions: Winfield Design LLC; MWW Development LLC; Lake Superior Contracting LP; and Constant Care Family Management; as well as The LaSalle Group’s Autumn Leaves memory care assisted living communities and other businesses throughout the country. He will also oversee the company’s risk management program and will serve as corporate secretary. Starr most recently served Belo Corp. as vice president and deputy general counsel. Before that, he served as in-house counsel for American Airlines and as an attorney with the international law firm of White & Case. He is licensed to practice in Texas, California and New York.

Law J. Jody Walker is a new associate in the Real Estate Practice Group at Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP. Walker previously was an associate at SettlePou in Dallas. He also clerked for the Hon. Gary Steel, 274th District Court, Guadalupe County, and the Hon. Lee Hamilton, 104th District Court in Abilene, Texas. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program.

Nonprofit Organizations Natalie Stalmach has been promoted to development director at CASA of Tarrant County. She worked in fundraising at Ballet Austin, in event planning at Southern Methodist University and as a fundraising consultant before joining CASA as development coordinator in 2012. Stalmach is the Youth in Philanthropy co-chairman for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Fort Worth chapter and is on the planning committee for the DFW Philanthropy Conference.

Radio & Television Jay Michaels has joined 103.7 KVIL as program director. Michaels most recently was program director for KDMX-FM and KDGE-FM in Dallas-Fort Worth. Prior to that, he was operations director for WROX-FM and WUSH-FM in Norfolk, Va. He also worked in Los Angeles (KYSR-FM), Houston (KRBE-FM) and Austin (KHFI-FM and KDHT-FM).

Real Estate The Greysteel Co. appointed Doug Banerjee to its executive committee. Banerjee is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth office of the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Greysteel Texas, where he specializes in investment advisory services and dispositions of multifamily properties and portfolios in North Texas and the South Central United States. Prior to joining Greysteel, Banerjee was an investment professional in the D-FW office of a national real estate investment services firm, and he spent six years as a consultant with Accenture and Deloitte.
