American Resort Management LLC, the management company of Grand Prairie-based Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, has announced the appointment of Eric Arthur as the park’s director of group sales and Lauren Colvin as the park’s director of corporate sales.

BANKING & FINANCE

SubPrime Auto Finance News has recognized Payix co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Preston Cecil as a Mover & Shaker in the auto finance industry. The publication’s July/August issue honored Cecil among 22 professionals who lead the way in keeping finance companies and service providers successful.

CONSTRUCTION

Tom Washer has been promoted from controller to vice president, controller of Westwood Contractors Inc.

EDUCATION

Jamie Sullins, president of the Arlington Independent School District board of trustees, announced her retirement at the Aug. 3 board meeting. Sullins has served on the board since May 2010. Her family is relocating from Arlington due to family reasons.

The Oakridge School has added Michelle Vaughn to its administrative team as the new director of technology and modern learning. Vaughn spent 10 years at Houston Christian High School, most recently as the director of educational technology.

The Oakridge School also added two members to its board of regents for the 2017-18 school year. Michael P. Heiskell is an attorney with the Fort Worth firm of Johnson, Vaughn & Heiskell. He is a board member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and serves on the State Bar of Texas’ Executive Director Search Committee.

Ron Widup is the CEO of Shermco Industries. Founded in 1974, the company provides maintenance, repair, testing and analysis for industrial electrical systems and equipment. The company is a five-time recipient of the “Best Places to Work” award. Widup is also president of the International Electrical Testing Association and is on the NETA’s board of directors and Standards Review Council.

Willbros Group Inc. has promoted S. Brett Luz to vice president and chief accounting officer. Luz has been with Willbros for six years and has been corporate controller, financial reporting. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University and is a certified public accountant.

FOOD SERVICE

Randy Tollison has been promoted to vice president of manufacturing and Kyle Newman has been promoted to director for center of the plate at Ben E. Keith Foods.

HEALTH CARE

Brett McClung, executive vice president and North Zone operations leader for Texas Health Resources, was honored with the Senior Level Healthcare Executive Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). The award recognizes his leadership in the ACHE and the community.

For nearly 25 years, McClung has held various leadership positions at Texas Health. He’s also been a volunteer in the community and health care industry through organizations such as the Dallas/Fort Worth Hospital Council, Tarrant County American Heart Association and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce. McClung volunteers his leadership to the March of Dimes, Dallas Division board of directors, Healthy Tarrant County Collaboration (past chairman), and the Trinity University Healthcare Advisory Council.

McClung was a Wharton Fellow with the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Marshall Memorial Leadership Fellow with the German Marshall Fund of the United States. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Southwestern University in Georgetown and a master’s degree in health care administration from Trinity University in San Antonio.

RETAIL

Pier 1 Imports Inc. on Aug. 9 announced that Jeffrey N. Boyer, executive vice president and chief financial officer, is leaving the company in October to become chief financial officer of Fossil Group Inc. Boyer has been a member of Fossil’s board of directors since 2007. Pier 1 will appoint an executive search firm to recruit a new CFO.

Separately, Pier 1 announced the appointment of information technology veteran Bhargav J. Shah, 41, as senior vice president and chief information officer, effective immediately.
