Boards & Organizations David Parker, AT&T vice president of external affairs for North Central Texas, has been named a trustee for the Mount Olivet Cemetery Association. A native of Crowley, Parker earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with minors in business administration and psychology from Texas A&M University. He continued graduate studies at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas before completing a master’s degree in applied economics from Southern Methodist University in 2004. Since 2009 Parker has been an adjunct professor of economics at Tarrant County College and most recently at Texas Wesleyan University, teaching micro- and macroeconomics. Education Deborah Roark, director of grants and research at Texas Wesleyan University, has been named associate vice president for sponsored programs and external relations. In her 10 years at Wesleyan, Roark has played an essential role in acquiring numerous grants for academic projects and other major university initiatives such as Title III. Roark will continue to pursue governmental and foundation funding to support academic programs, other university-wide initiatives and projects as well as provide oversight for all sponsored programs. A native of Maine, Roark received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and her MBA from the University of North Florida. In December, she will receive her doctorate of education from Texas Wesleyan.
Health Care North Hills Hospital named Matthew Eiserloh the new director of marketing and public relations and Nancy Hill as chief operating officer. Eiserloh comes from Parker University, where he was chief marketing officer. Prior to this, he was a partner and senior project manager for Ascend Marketing in Grapevine. He also was the vice president of marketing for NCH Corp. in Irving. Eiserloh recently completed a term as chairman of the Northeast Tarrant County Chamber of Commerce. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of North Texas and an MBA from the University of Dallas. As chief nursing officer previously, Hill initiated and championed service excellence strategies, achieved full Joint Commission hospital reaccreditation, and secured Top 10 status in the nation for HCA employee engagement scores. Prior to her tenure with North Hills Hospital, Hill was the chief nursing officer for Heart Hospital of Austin, a campus of St. David’s Medical Center. Hill received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from Texas Tech University, where she graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Dahlia Hassani has been named vice president of medical affairs at Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth. Hassani will be the physician administrative leader for quality improvement efforts, safety, electronic health record implementation, and medical staff support. Hassani is board-certified in emergency medicine and has previously held clinical and committee leadership roles throughout the Baylor Health Care System and multiple professional organizations. These roles included BHCS Emergency Department Council member and executive committee of Tarrant County Emergency Physicians Advisory Board. Most recently she has served as the chief of Emergency Medicine and the medical director of the Emergency Department. Hassani completed undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in emergency medicine at Emory University.
Honors & Awards Admiral William H. McRaven has been named the 2013 Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl’s Great American Patriot Award recipient. The award will be presented by Armed Forces Insurance, the sponsor of the award. McRaven serves as commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. He will formally accept the award during halftime of the 11th annual Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth on Dec. 30. McRaven attended the University of Texas on a track scholarship and graduated with a degree in journalism. Throughout his career he has commanded at every level within special operations. Prior to his current post he was commander of Joint Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, N.C., from 2008-2011. From 2006-2008 he was the commander of Special Operations Command Europe. He also was the first graduate from the Special Operations/Low Intensity Conflict program at the Naval Postgraduate School, a program that he helped establish. McRaven organized and executed Operation Neptune Spear, the raid that led to the death of Osama Bin Laden in May 2011. University of Texas at Arlington associate bioengineering Professor Kytai Nguyen has been elected as a Fellow of the American Heart Association by its Council on Basic Cardiovascular Sciences. Nguyen, who joined UT Arlington in 2005, specializes in cellular engineering. Her research also involves tissue engineering, drug delivery and stem cell therapies. Nguyen is working with the American Heart Association on a new method that would use injected nanoparticles to recruit stem cells from a patient’s own blood to build stents needed in that patient’s failing blood vessels. Nguyen also received the Scientist Development Award from the National American Heart Association in 2007. The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) awarded J. David Motley its Andrew D. Woodward Distinguished Service Award in recognition of dedication and service to MBA and the mortgage lending industry. Motley is president of Colonial Savings F.A. and its divisions – Colonial National Mortgage and CU Members Mortgage. Motley is also CEO of First Western Title, Colonial’s affiliated full-service residential and commercial title agency. He has more than 30 years in the banking and mortgage finance sector. Motley has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Texas and is a graduate of the School of Mortgage Banking. He is chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association Residential Board of Governors and a member of the board of directors of the MBA. Dr. Albert Yurvati, chairman and professor of surgery at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, is the 2013 recipient of the Orel F. Martin Medal, the highest honor awarded annually by the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons. Yurvati was honored for his contribution to the organization, the field of surgery and the osteopathic profession, and for his excellence in surgical care and education and his achievements in medical research. He has received numerous awards from UNTHSC, including the 2012 Clyde Gallenhugh DO Memorial Award and the 2011 President’s Award for Clinical Excellence. He is past president of the Metro Fort Worth American Heart Association and is a past board member of the Texas Affiliate of AHA. He also received the AHA Distinguished Service Award. The Fort Worth law firm of Moses, Palmer & Howell LLP has been awarded the Civil Trial Law Firm of the Year-USA award by Acquisition International. The firm was selected based on votes received and Acquisition International’s in-house research to assess performance and activity during the year.
Nonprofit Organizations Leslie Oliver has been named president and chief executive officer of The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation, effective Jan. 1. She will succeed Betsy R. Pepper, the founder of the foundation and its president and CEO since 2009, who will retire as of Dec. 31. Prior to joining the foundation, Oliver was senior director of development, donor services, of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She joined the hospital in December 2003 as development manager, annual giving and donor relations, and advanced through the positions of assistant director, annual giving and donor relations, and director of donor services. Earlier she was development officer, donor relations, for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston; foundation director, The Giving Back Fund, Boston; marketing and product development coordinator, ProLiance Energy, Indianapolis; and marketing and training coordinator, The Trane Co., Indianapolis. Oliver graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in business with a marketing concentration.
Radio & Television News anchor and reporter Ken Molestina will join CBS 11 beginning Jan. 6. Molestina was most recently a reporter for WUSA-TV in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, he was a news anchor and reporter at KVIA-TV in El Paso. A graduate of the University of Florida, Molestina began his career as an intern at WFOR-TV in Miami. He also has worked as a news anchor and reporter at television and radio stations in Gainesville, Fla. He serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
Real Estate Charles Bailey (C.B.) Team is now a principal at Ellis & Tinsley Inc. commercial and investment real estate firm. Team joined Ellis & Tinsley in 2006 as an associate handling property management and leasing, and over the last seven years has taken on responsibilities that cover the entire real estate spectrum: from site selection and development to project leasing and construction management. A graduate of the University of Texas, Team is a licensed real estate broker, chairman of the City of Fort Worth Appeals Board, secretary/treasurer of the Society of Commercial Realtors, and member of a number of committees for the Greater Fort Worth Association of Realtors.
Retail Mark A. Boerio has been appointed to the new position of senior vice president, inventory planning and allocation at RadioShack Corp. Boerio held various executive positions for Belk Inc., most recently senior vice president, corporate strategy. During 11 years at Belk, Boerio also served as senior vice president, merchandise planning and allocation, and senior vice president, stores. Before joining Belk, he was manager, merchandise planning for Victoria’s Secret Stores LLC. Boerio received his MBA from Duquesne University and his bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In addition, the company announced that Huey P. Long, executive vice president of strategy and consumer insights, has chosen to leave RadioShack to pursue other opportunities. His responsibilities have been reassigned to other executives.
Sports Paige Farragut has been promoted to senior vice president, ticket sales and service for the Texas Rangers. Farragut is responsible for revenue generation through the sale of season, group and individual tickets as well as long-term and nightly suites at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Farragut has been with the Rangers’ ticket and suite sales operations since 1999 and most recently was vice president, ticket sales and service. Prior to that, she worked for the Dallas Stars as a season ticket account executive. Farragut is a graduate of Texas State University.
