Health Care Nora Frasier joined Methodist Mansfield Medical Center as vice president and chief nursing officer. A 20-year veteran of the health care industry, Frasier currently serves as a magnet program appraiser team leader for the American Nurses Association.
Honors & Awards Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director Miguel Harth-Bedoya – photo – has been honored as “Texan with Character” by CBS DFW. The special interview, filmed at Bass Performance Hall, aired Jan. 17 and is available online. Harth-Bedoya’s brainchild, Caminos del Inka, was performed for the first time in the Dallas-Fort Worth area at Bass Performance Hall on Jan. 25. The Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth named Calvin Whitehead as the Tarrant County TIBH Artie Lee Hinds Employee of the Year. Whitehead is being honored for his dedication, quality of work and professional attitude. Fort Worth and Guiyang, China, have won Sister Cities International’s 2014 U.S.-China Sister Cities Award in the “Youth” category, recognized for their contribution in building strong people-to-people ties between the two countries. Award winners will be honored March 27 during the 2014 U.S.-China Sister Cities Conference in Washington, D.C. TTI Inc. has been awarded the 2013 Global Distributor of the Year Award from Molex as well as Distributor of the Year in Europe and Asia. TTI Italy continued the winning streak in Europe by being recognized as Top Distributor and TTI Mexico was honored with the Partnership in Growth Award.
Hospitality The Omni Fort Worth Hotel appointed Lindsay Kane as catering sales manager. Kane joins Omni from the Worthington Renaissance Fort Worth Hotel where she served as an event manager. Prior to that, she was the catering and convention services manager at the Hilton President Hotel in Kansas City.
Nonprofit Organizations Clayton Youth Enrichment Services hired William Torres as training coordinator. Torres previously was district executive for the Boy Scouts of America, Kansas City, Mo., local district; public speaking instructor for the University of Central Missouri; and program manager for Momentum Youth Performance.

Honors & Awards In recognition of four decades of service to Tarrant County College, including 15 as the first female campus president of a TCC campus (TCC Southeast), Judith J. Carrier has been recognized by the naming of the Southeast Campus Library in her honor. This TCC facility represents the second to be named after a founding campus president. The Michael Saenz Conference Center on TCC Northwest Campus is named for its founding president. Carrier joined TCC in 1971 as a counselor and teacher in the psychology department at the Northeast Campus, where she also served as chair of the department of Student Services. In 1975, she moved to the Northwest Campus where she served as dean of Student Development Services, dean of Career Education and dean of Instruction. She became the founding president of Southeast Campus in 1996 where she served until her retirement in 2011.
Honors & Awards Texas Health Resources Chief Information Officer Edward W. Marx has been named as the recipient of the 2013 John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year Award. The award is sponsored by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Marx leads Texas Health’s Innovative Technology Services professionals in developing and implementing strategies to enhance the patient and provider experience through the application of information technology. In June 2010, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Marx as chairman of the Texas Health Services Authority. In 2012 Marx received CHIME’s Fourth Annual State Advocacy Award for CIO Leadership. Prior to joining Texas Health in 2007, Marx was CIO of University Hospitals Health System of Cleveland. He previously served in IT leadership roles with health care organizations such as HCA. He served concurrently in the U.S. Army Reserve, first as a combat medic, then as a combat engineer officer. A Fellow of both the CHIME and HIMSS organizations, Marx was named to Computerworld’s list of Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2010.
