Sanford, Baumeister & Frazier continues to grow, hires five and elevates eight
Sanford, Baumeister & Frazier LLP recently promoted eight employees and hired five new people.
Those promoted were Candace S. Blair to tax partner; Andy Hughes to senior tax associate; Kay Dixon – to tax associate II; Audra Kirby and Kourtney Jenke –- to audit associate II; Sandra Hinckley – to tax associate; Maira Raza to audit associate; and Connie Bryant to staff development manager.
New hires are Delan Paulsen as senior audit manager; tax associates Adrian Perez, -Amberly Tosh, Andrew Cagle and Sarah Holtermann; and Sheryl Myrick, executive assistant.
Blair has been with the firm since 2010 when she joined as a senior tax accountant. With more than 10 years of public accounting tax experience, Blair serves as SB&F’s State and Local tax (SALT) practice leader. A CPA, she focuses on corporate, individual and partnership taxation. Prior to joining SB&F, Blair served as a senior tax associate at Harman Leito & Bolt LLP and at Sproles Woodard LLP.
Before joining SB&F, Paulsen worked for Weaver for 10 years attaining the role of senior audit manager prior to his departure. He has worked at Fred J. Bastie & Associates, FEC Communications LLP, Grant Thornton LLP, Maginnis, Knechthel & McIntrye in California and Arthur Andersen LLP, also in California. Paulsen is a licensed CPA in Texas and California.

Glenn Isbell – has assumed the role of senior vice president for the customer support and service organization at Bell Helicopter. Isbell has 19 years of experience at Bell Helicopter, with leadership roles in engineering, aircraft programs and business systems modernization, including vice president of XworX and most recently vice president, business optimization where he was involved in nearly every aspect of the company’s operations.
Banking & Finance
Jan Neal joined JTaylor as partner-director of assurance services. Neal has more than 15 years of experience providing attestation support to a range of clients, including construction and manufacturing companies, employee benefit plans, nonprofit organizations, governmental entities (school districts and counties), single audits and program specific audits, HUD and other commercial entities. She has experience performing audits, reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures, internal control evaluations and various consulting engagements. Previously, she worked at Whitley Penn, the United Way of Tarrant County and Stovall, Grandey & Allen LLP.
Tom Tallent is the new president of Cendera Bank’s mortgage division. He will direct and manage the growth of the bank’s mortgage activities related to interim construction, residential mortgage lending, correspondent lending and portfolio mortgages. Tallent is currently president of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association, a senior vice president at Cendera Funding and a certified mortgage banker with more than 16 years of experience in the industry.

Commissioner Roy Charles Brooks was elected second vice president of the National Association of Counties. He will become NACo’s president in July 2017.
Taryn Ozuna Allen, – an assistant professor in the College of Education at the University of Texas at Arlington, is one of only four fellows chosen from across the state this year to be a Greater Texas Foundation Faculty Fellow. Allen’s research focuses on college readiness and access; science, technology, engineer and math or STEM; and Latino students’ higher education experiences.

Rich Glomski joined the C12 Group’s Tarrant team. Glomski has 35-plus years of business advisory experience in a variety of industries. Most recently, Glomski served as president and owner of The S Three Co., a local management consulting firm. An experienced executive coach, he has assisted business leaders with leadership transitions, organizational performance, team communications, and major change initiatives. He has served as a senior business adviser to numerous leadership teams at Chevron, Shell Chemicals, Clear Channel Communications and the Houston Independent School District, to name a few.

Fort Worth Independent School District Secondary Teacher of the Year Lee Ann O’Loughlin, a Pre-AP English teacher at W.C. Stripling Middle School, was named a 2015 Region 11 Teacher of the Year. O’Loughlin, a 30-year teaching veteran, has been at Fort Worth ISD since 2009.

For the third year in a row, First American Payment Systems LP has won the Association of TeleServices International’s Call Center Award of Distinction.
AUI Contractors’ work on the JFK Tribute & General Worth Square project in Fort Worth earned the company a Pyramid Award in the Other Construction-Less than $2 million category of Associated Builders and Contractors’ Excellence in Construction Awards. The company was honored March 5 during the 25th annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration in Florida.

Tawanna Lynn Cesare, an attorney with experience in family law and commercial litigation, is returning to Cantey Hanger LLP as a partner in the litigation section. Cesare began her legal career as an associate with Cantey Hanger from 2003-2007, after a summer clerkship. The past eight years, she has been of counsel to Moses, Palmer & Howell LLP, focusing on family law matters. She previously worked in the marketing department of Jones Lang LaSalle in New Jersey and Arlington. In the community, she is involved with the Greater Fort Worth Commercial Real Estate Women, is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, served on the board of the Tarrant County Bar, and was secretary and past chairman for Family Pathfinders Inc. of Tarrant County. She is recognized by Texas Wesleyan University’s Black Law Students Alumni chapter with the annual Tawanna Cesare Leadership scholarship award since 2006.
Gordon Sykes LLP added Brett J. Wyatt as of counsel. Wyatt has practiced law more than 25 years in areas such as probate, oil and gas, ad valorem taxation, condemnation, family, and Social Security disability law. Admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1990, Wyatt is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in residential real estate law and consumer and commercial law. He also is a licensed real estate broker.

Coldwell Banker Commercial Alliance DFW added Joe Hamilton, a 17-year investment sales broker, in its Fort Worth office. Hamilton primarily will focus on multi- and single-tenant retail investment sales throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Hamilton previously was affiliated with Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services. He started in commercial real estate with Barrow Heath Inc. in Dallas and subsequently worked for Butler Commercial Real Estate and several banks. He is a member of the Greater Fort Worth Real Estate Council and International Council of Shopping Centers.
Restaurants
Jeff Carcara, chief operating officer at Del Frisco’ Restaurant Group Inc., resigned to pursue an executive leadership opportunity at a private restaurant company. Carcara had served as COO since November 2012.
