The Cliburn names two to marketing, communication jobs

Jacques Marquis, the president and CEO of The Cliburn, has announced that Maggie Estes, Cliburn director of marketing and public relations since April 2010, has been named director of communications and digital content. Kim Blouin, previously vice president of strategic development at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, was named director of marketing.

“With five million webcast views and a viral reach of more than 110 million during the three weeks of the 2017 Competition, the Cliburn is looking to build on its current momentum and plan for continued growth,” Marquis said in a news release.

“With their expertise, enthusiasm, and passion for the Cliburn mission, both of these professionals will help us increase audiences here and globally, explore new sources of earned revenue, and enhance our digital presence,” he said.

At the Star-Telegram, Blouin directing community marketing and revenue efforts. Her new role will include building on the Cliburn’s advertising and marketing plan, increasing local and regional audiences, and seeking new sources of revenue and visibility, the release says. Estes will plan and oversee branding, press relations, publications, digital content and all other communications.

The Cliburn – named for the late Van Cliburn of Fort Worth – is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing classical piano music through international competitions, education programs and concert series. The Cliburn also provides winning artists with career management and concert bookings.

The next Van Cliburn International Piano Competition is scheduled for May/June 2021.
