United Way of Tarrant County names 2019-2020 chair and co-chair

United Way of Tarrant County Aug. 8 named Patricia A. Linares, Ph.D., as chair of the 2019-2020 fundraising campaign season, with Hadley Woerner serving as co-chair.

Together, Linares and Woerner will work on establishing essential community relationships to bolster annual campaign contributions, United Way said in a news release.

Linares previously served on United Way’s board of directors.

“It is an honor for me to chair the annual campaign on behalf of United Way of Tarrant County,” Linares said in the news release.

“United Way’s leadership and resources have been instrumental in improving the lives of those in our community who are in need. But there is still work to be done. I encourage all businesses and organizations large and small to join us as we work to solve some of the most critical issues facing our community,” she said.

United Way said that Linares’ professional background in urban school management makes her especially privy to some of the issues families are facing in Tarrant County.

She is a former interim superintendent for Fort Worth and Crowley Independent School Districts and is currently an adjunct professor at Texas State University as well as a senior consultant for JG Consulting Superintendent Search Firm.

Woerner currently serves as Tarrant County Regional President for Frost Bank and has been active in many community and professional organizations, the news release said. In addition to his role as campaign co-chair, he serves as a board member for United Way of Tarrant County for the third campaign year in a row.

“Pat and Hadley have actively served in our community for many years, and I am confident they will help us reach our goals,” TD Smyers, president and CEO of United Way of Tarrant County, said in the announcement. “We are grateful for their leadership on our board and in our community, and we look forward to working with them on a successful campaign.”
