Unwanted visitor at North Texas museum, snake in toilet

ARCHER CITY, Texas (AP) — An unwelcome visitor at a North Texas museum curled up in a popular spot until a worker noticed the nearly 6-foot snake and summoned help.

The Wichita Falls Times Record News reported Monday that the snake was safely removed from a toilet at the Archer County Museum in the town of Archer, about 100 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

Mary Ann Levy on Sunday afternoon was opening the museum in Archer City when she came upon the rat snake.

Sheriff’s Deputy Tina Robertson was supervising an inmate crew mowing the grounds of the nearby courthouse. A trusty happened to know about snakes and he helped extricate the coiled creature.
