The Wood Products Council’s WoodWorks program is hosting a seminar in San Antonio, Texas that will explore the use of cross laminated timber (CLT) in non-residential and multi-family buildings. CLT is an engineered wood building system designed to complement light and heavy-timber framing options. The seminar will introduce CLT through a series of project examples while considering some of the more challenging aspects of CLT building design, such as fire and life safety, lateral and seismic design, acoustic performance and building envelope. Additional topics will include the manufacturing and specification of CLT, building code considerations and available resources, including the new U.S. CLT Handbook. Attendees can earn 2.0 AIA/CES LUs (HSW) credits. On-site check-in: 10:30 a.m. Program: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Parking is free. $20 per attendee. Lunch will be provided. Seating is limited.
