Clean Out, Help Out Donation & Shopping Event Supports Programs for Local Families

FORT WORTH — Community members are invited to turn gently used items into meaningful impact at Clean Out, Help Out, a donation and thrift event benefitting programs that support women and children in Tarrant County. Hosted by Center for Transforming Lives, the event offers a unique opportunity to give, shop, dine and connect, all for a great cause.

Clean Out, Help Out will take place from 5 pm – 7 pm on Thursday, May 7, at The Resale Shop, 6500 Camp Bowie Boulevard, in Fort Worth.

Attendees are encouraged to bring gently used clothing, housewares and small furniture items to donate to The Resale Shop, helping ensure a high quality and diverse selection for future shoppers. After donating, guests are invited to shop curated treasures, enjoy music and entertainment, purchase dinner from local food trucks and connect with neighbors. Every donation and sale transforms lives.

Donated items will be sold through The Resale Shop, with proceeds supporting vital services such as housing assistance, early childhood education, counseling and economic mobility services offered by Center for Transforming Lives. Owned and operated by the non-profit for more than 20 years, The Resale Shop has generated millions of dollars to support programs that help women and children overcome poverty and trauma, and build financial and emotional well-being. The popular thrift store is generously supported by dedicated volunteers, some of whom have been giving their time since the doors opened!

About Center for Transforming Lives

Center for Transforming Lives partners with single mothers and their children so they can thrive. Founded in 1907, Center for Transforming Lives is one of Tarrant County’s biggest family safety nets, working to disrupt cycles of poverty and homelessness among the most vulnerable in our community. The non-profit meets the needs of 3,000 women and children annually, through a comprehensive and evidence-based, two-generation and trauma-informed model. Thanks to housing support, early childhood education, economic mobility services and counseling services that work across generations, parents and children establish security and well-being as a family. Led by CEO Carol Klocek since 2009, the $24 million non-profit opened its new Riverside Campus headquarters in May 2025.
