Lo, the poor woman, perhaps a victim of rape or incest, whose pleas for help and understanding fall on deaf ears. How far we have come from the hope, understanding and care personified by the late Democratic Speaker Jim Wright to the unfeeling stone age condemnation of new Republican Congressman Ron Wright that women who have abortions should be punished.
When that stone-age law is passed, who will ask if Ron Wright will cast the first stone? The golden voice which once would have asked will now be heard no more, for Jim Wright sleeps in Weatherford’s Greenwood Cemetery.
