35W north of downtown Fort Worth to close Friday

Interstate 35W construction will force all lanes to close overnight on Friday April 24.

Construction is forcing all northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 35W at Northeast 28th Street to close from 9 p.m. Friday April 24 at to 10 a.m. Saturday April 25.

Northbound and southbound traffic will be redirected along the frontage roads, according to North Tarrant Express officials.

Meanwhile, eastbound traffic on Northeast 28th Street will be redirected to Northside Drive, with westbound traffic on Northeast 28th Street redirected to 33rd Street. Drivers should expect delays in the area and seek an alternate route, officials said.

Construction along the freeway is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes a section ranked eighth among the state’s most congested roadways.
