Advent Air Conditioning names new president

Advent Air Conditioning Inc. announced that Jared Douglas has been named president of the Lewisville-based company. Advent’s founder, Mike Douglas, will remain in the CEO role.

“Now that we have integrated the Traction EOS management structure at Advent, my role as CEO and Visionary will be a much better fit in the years ahead,” said Douglas. “Jared’s assessments and skill set make him an excellent match for the role of President/Integrator as we seek to move Advent forward and structure the company for future growth.”

Douglas has served in multiple roles throughout Advent since joining the company in 2000 as a warehouse helper. He gained front-line experience as a Retro Replacement Installer prior to becoming an Engineering Department Assistant, then was promoted to Engineering Department Manager. Most recently, he spent nearly two years in Residential New Construction Sales.

“I am sincerely honored and humbled to carry out my father’s legacy in the HVAC industry, and hope to some day pass on this extraordinary company to my son as well,” Jared said.

Asked about what changes are in store for Advent going forward, Jared said his first priority is to redefine the company culture so that it focuses more on employees, in part by adding rewards and incentive programs that benefit both the workers and their families. Examples include annual incentive trips, scholarship programs and opportunities for sales spiffs for all employees, regardless of their specific role in the company.

“In 10 years, I intend for Advent to have the highest-paid and best-trained employees in the HVAC industry,” said Jared. “We will also have four Home Service locations in Texas by that time.”

Advent currently serves Lewisville, Flower Mound, Plano, Frisco, Irving and the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth Area from its home office in Lewisville. The 50-plus-employee company has earned multiple awards and accolades, including the Carrier President’s Award for Excellence in Business, as well as the Torch Award for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau, which recognizes companies across all industries that exemplify ethical and conscientious business practices.
