As construction on American Airlines’ new headquarters in Fort Worth continues, the airline’s current world headquarters at 4333 Amon Carter Blvd. is already up for sale.
The 40-acre complex, divided into four land parcels, includes 3 buildings with 1.39 million square foot of class A office space and 6.33 acres of vacant land.
Transwestern Commercial Services announced on Thursday that it will be the exclusive representative for the property’s disposition.
“This offering presents an outstanding opportunity for a user or investor to acquire an ideally located office campus with excellent recruiting access to both Dallas and Fort Worth,” said Transwestern’s Managing Director Mike Hardage, who is overseeing the disposition strategy.
Transwestern did not disclose the expected sale price.
The airline’s new headquarters, which includes a $250 million-hotel, is scheduled for completion in 2021.
American Airlines employees will be vacating the current facility in stages over the next 18 months.
Transwestern said the property, which is 48.6% occupied, is in excellent condition and will trade at a significant discount to replacement cost.
“The campus is a wonderful opportunity for a visionary investor or user to create something truly special and unique in this region,” Hardage said. “I look forward to watching the evolution of this iconic DFW asset.”
