Architectural paints, coating manufacturer building new Flower Mound distribution facility

New distribution center will support U.S. Southwest region

PPG announced  June 5 plans for a new, nearly 450,000-square-foot distribution center in Flower Mound, a news release announced.

The facility, which will be constructed and leased through Duke Realty, is expected to be completed in May 2019 and will be the largest distribution center for architectural paints and coatings in PPG’s U.S. and Canada network.

“PPG is incredibly proud to announce the Flower Mound distribution center project in this important market,” Dave Cole, PPG vice president, architectural coatings, U.S. and Canada, said in the release. “The new facility will continue to grow the presence of PPG in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and allow for even greater efficiency in serving our customers in the Southwest U.S. region.”

The new facility aims to strengthen the company’s distribution, allowing for improved, efficient service to the company’s national accounts, company stores and independent retailers nationwide.

PPG recently invested approximately $9 million to open 14 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, bringing the total to nearly 40 regional PPG PAINTS, employing nearly 900 people across Texas, according to the release.

The company also works to support local industry-relevant STEM training and education initiatives through the PPG Foundation, the release said, adding that PPG recently partnered with the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association to support the advancement and economic growth of Hispanic contractors in Texas.
