Fixe

Fixe, a project of culinary veterans James Robert (Executive Chef/Co-Owner) and Keith House (President/Co-Owner), is now open in Fort Worth.

Their “southern house” concept incorporates southern hospitality service ideals and a menu that calls on Robert’s Louisiana roots, including some reimagined takes on old family recipes. Fixe Fort Worth is located at the Shops at Clearfork, serving “Sunday Supper” seven nights a week, as well as a daily 4-7 p.m. happy hour.

Fixe’s menu includes:

— Lobster and Crawfish Pot Pie, made with Maine lobster, Louisiana crawfish, mushrooms and sweet corn béchamel

— Fried Chicken with buttermilk, kale, green apple and spicy honey

— ‘Blackened’ Red Snapper with rock shrimp, bone marrow, toasted farro, butternut squash, and hot & sour nage

— Duroc Pork Shoulder with potlikker pinto beans, mustard greens and jalapeño-kale emulsion

— And a trio of Anson Mills antebellum grits and three biscuits with housemade preserves and whipped butter

“This menu showcases takes on the tastes and dishes that I grew up with,” Robert said in the release. “You’ll see a section dedicated to an heirloom variety of grits, our signature biscuits, and a number of great entrees, each with a playful spin. While the menu puts forth the familiar, we’ve just reimagined how it all comes together.”

Seventeen years after opening their first project together, Robert and House are ready to welcome guests to their second culinary project, the release stated.

With tributes to traditional southern design throughout the space mixed with a more modern outlook, the 220-seat, 6900-square-foot restaurant was designed by Amy Jackson at Nelson Partners, who mixed new and old, vintage and modern, and bold masculine elements and lighter, more whimsical touches.

New features of Fix Fort Worth, considered a brighter and more polished version of the original Fixe, include the Service Bar that spotlights craft cocktails and the Wine Room.

“We feel so fortunate to be able to open in Fort Worth, a city we’ve come to know and adore, and the most natural fit for us as we expand beyond our flagship,” House said in the release. “We’ve learned over the years that food has a way of bringing people together and we are excited to open our doors to our new community and get to know them over biscuits and bourbon.”

The team said in the release it is hopeful the new restaurant will be as well received as the flagship, which opened in Austin just over three years ago.

Fixe Fort Worth is located at 5282 Marathon Ave at the Shops at Clearfork, open nightly for dinner from 4-10 p.m. and featuring a happy hour menu from 4-7 p.m.
