Builder chosen for south central Fort Worth recreation center

C. Perry Builders, a general contractor based in Aubrey, Texas, has been chosen as the builder for a recreation center at 3427 Hemphill Street.

The Fort Worth City Council approved a $5.2 million contract with the company Tuesday to build a 20,000 square-foot recreation facility to serve residents in south central Fort Worth. C Perry Builders beat out seven other firms, including Imperial Construction, Ratcliff Constructors and Steele and Freeman.

The Victory Forest Recreation Center will include a gym, fitness room, kitchen, restrooms with showers and other amenities. Plans for the outside of the facility include a paved patio area and playground.

The recreation center will be used for after-school activities, day camps and other programs for youths and adults.
