Marriot is increasing U.S. presence for one of its latest hotel brand with a new Southlake location.
Construction began this month at the southeast corner of the 114 corridors in Southlake, site of the new Marriott Delta Hotel, only the second in North Texas.
Spanning across five acres, the new six-story hotel will feature 240 rooms and suites. Additionally, the hotel will have 10,000 square feet of meeting space alongside a full-service restaurant and bar.
Delta Hotels is Marriot’s upscale hospitality brand. A 300-room Delta Hotel opened alongside Watters Creek Convention Center in Allen earlier this year.
Marriott acquired the Delta Hotels brand in 2015. As of this year first quarter, 64 Delta Hotels were operating, with a majority number in Canada.
The new hotel in Southlake is one of the first ground-up Delta Hotels in the U.S.
Dallas-based Merriman Anderson Architects is the hotel project’s architect and interior designer.
“The hotel features a modern design borrowing materials and color from the surrounding context,” said Milton Anderson, Merriman Anderson/Architects Vice President. “The warm blend of limestone, metals and stucco create a modern flavor for the architecture setting the tone for the palette that will be used for the rest of the masterplan.”
The hotel is the anchor for a planned 16-acre mixed-use development, which includes retail and office space. The hotel is the first phase of the project, developed by RREAF Holdings.
“The RREAF development team, led by Carl Schwab, RREAF’s lead developer, has worked diligently on this project for more than three years,” RREAF CEO Kip Sowden had said in a press release. “We believe the depth and experience of our team assures successful execution of a very high-end attractive full-service Marriott Delta Hotel development.”
Hill & Wilkinson is the general contractor. And, Cole Engineering is the MEP engineer.
Construction on the hotel is scheduled to complete in 2020.
