PATE RANCH

The Fort Worth City Council at its Dec. 6 meeting approved a request from Pate Ranch Commercial LP to rezone 6200-6300 Dirks Road (Altamesa) to Planned Development for all uses in Intensive Commercial plus continuing care and independent living.

The proposed site is south of Dirks Road and west of Chisholm Trail Parkway. The change will allow for the construction of an assisted living/independent living campus.

The property was annexed and zoned into the city in 2014, with the intention of developing a mixed-use gateway in southwest Fort Worth and including mixed use, commercial and single-family residential uses. The change from the mixed-use zoning will not allow this area to develop into the originally proposed higher density, walkable design.

The council also approved a reduction in parking spaces from 708 to 495 as the development is intended for elderly residents.
