During its work session on Feb. 12, the Fort Worth City Council was given a briefing on the economic impact of Alliance by Mike Berry of the Hillwood Development Corporation.

The Alliance area is 26,000 acres stretching south to north from Fort Worth to Denton, and west to east from Haslet to Westlake. The area is celebrating three decades of existence this year.

“I wouldn’t come if I had bad news,” Berry said with a smile. “Today is a good news day, and we’ve been fortunate in Fort Worth and Alliance to have good news days the last several years.”

Looking Forward to 2019, Berry said there are plenty of high-profile developments:

*Stanley Black & Decker plans to move in, while more industrial space will begin construction.

*Amazon Air plans to occupy phase I as early as the fall.

*Four craft dining options are scheduled to open with live entertainment.

*Tacara Village is set to deliver 332 multifamily units to adjacent medical and office buildings.

Through 2018, the cumulative economic impact of Alliance has been $76.43 billion, including $7.19 billion in 2018, Berry noted. Private investments have totaled over $9 billion, and public investments have topped $775.3 million.

Total property taxes from paid from the area are over $2.25 billion. Of those, $447.8 million have gone to Fort Worth, including over $40 million last year.

The area had 45 milliion square feet developed in 2018. Also, over 61,000 direct jobs were generated through over 500 companies.

Looking back at 2018 in review in the Alliance area, highlights included:

*Mercedes-Benz Financial Services constructed their third state-of-the-art facility.

*Charles Schwab construction is on track to open in 2019, welcoming over 6,000 employees by 2021.

*Stanley Black & Decker, new Fortune 250 company, decides to call Alliance Northport home.

*XPO Logistics leased a new 300,000 square-foot facility

*Smart Warehousing opened its first North Texas location.

*Airborne Tactical Advantage Company opened its largest operation to date.

*Amazon Air chose Alliance Airport to launch construction on unique distribution operation.

*A highly-crafted, 130-acre mixed-use development at the corner of the Highway 114 and Texas 170 corridor.

*The new Front Porch of Circle T Ranch anchored by Charles Schwab regional campus.

*Lifetime Athletic 200,000 square foot luxury, athletic club, opened its first location in Fort Worth.

*Extension of 11,000 feet dual runways createed greater flight capacity for air

*Food Truck Fridays series featured outdoor, pet-friendly events for the whole family.

*Holiday at The Park brought season cheer to Alliance Town Center with record attendance.
