Decker Jones attorney Matt Motes named to National Association of Home Builders

Matthew L. Motes, a shareholder with Decker, Jones, McMackin, McClane, Hall & Bates PC of Fort Worth, has been named a director of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

In his new role, Motes takes a position reserved for the Hill Country Builders’ Association as one of its director representatives for the three meetings a year held by the NAHB. Hill Country represents 10 counties in Texas and includes cities such as Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Johnson City, Marble Falls, Burnet and Horseshoe Bay.

Motes’ practice focuses on trial and arbitration of construction law, commercial litigation and real estate matters. He represents owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers throughout Texas on issues regarding disputes, construction, defect, contract, mechanic’s liens and other issues.

Motes is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Construction and Litigation section; the Tarrant County Bar Association, Construction Law; the Dallas Bar Association,  Construction Law; and the East Texas Builders Association.

The National Association of Home Builders, based in Washington, D.C., is a trade association formed in 1942 “to enhance the climate for housing, homeownership and the residential building industry.” It includes more than 800 state and local associations and 140,000 members.
