Lazy Dog to open Mid-Cities location

Southern California-based Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar will celebrate the one-year anniversary of its first Texas location in Addison on Sept. 27 and said it will expand in the local market with new openings in Mid-Cities and Plano starting this fall to early 2017.

“We are thrilled to continue development of Lazy Dog in Texas, opening our Plano restaurant in November and our Mid-Cities restaurant early next year,” said Chris Simms, founder and CEO of Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar. “We decided to open our next restaurants in Plano and Mid-Cities, as both areas are filled with vibrant neighborhoods packed with families and growing business centers. With our commitment to innovative scratch cooking and gracious hospitality, we believe that the Lazy Dog concept will fit perfectly with the residents and daytime workers of these neighborhoods.”

Lazy Dog’s 9,356-square-foot Plano restaurant will open at Village 121 on 8401 Preston Road; and the 9,392-square-foot Mid-Cities restaurant will open at Glade Parks on 2521 State Highway 121. Both restaurants will offer more than 1,300 square feet of dog-friendly patio space. The company plans to fill more than 400 jobs total with the new openings, including servers, bartenders, hosts, cooks, dishwashers and bussers.

In celebration of Lazy Dog’s one-year anniversary in Texas, the Addison restaurant will host a happy hour event Sept. 27 from 5-8 p.m. The event is open to the public and guests will enjoy complimentary passed appetizers, drink specials, giveaways and live music on the patio. Additionally, Facebook fans of Lazy Dog can sign up to receive a complimentary appetizer from Sept. 16-30 by visiting www.facebook.com/lazydogrestaurants.
