Encore Wire Corp. of McKinney has purchased about 201 acres of land near its home campus for $25.7 million.
“In order to plan for our future and continue the long-term growth of the company, we have continued to increase our product offerings to our existing customer base in the building wire category,” said president and CEO Daniel L. Jones in a news release.
In 2006, the firm opened an armored cable plant. Two years later, it opened a plant dedicated to producing large tray cable. A research and development center and aluminum wire plant opened in 2010 and 2012, respectively.
“This 200-acre plot, located across the street from our current campus, provides the ability to continue to execute our long-term strategy of organic growth here on our campus in McKinney,” Jones said.
Encore Wire Corp. manufactures copper electrical building wire for interior wiring in commercial and industrial buildings, homes, apartments, and manufactured housing. More information is available at www.encorewire.com.
